A project carried out by Siemens for a wind farm near Thurso in Highland Region. Jacks1 were part of the major sub contract for the Civil Engineering works. The works were constructed in poor ground conditions.

Black Law Wind Farm 2004 - 2005
|
Jacks1 were part of the major sub contract for Civil Engineering works to AMEC on what was at that time the largest onshore wind farm in the UK. Ground conditions were extremely arduous with tracks being constructed over peat with depths in excess of 7 metres. Excavations and construction of turbine bases were also carried out in these difficult peat conditions

Farr Wind Farm 2005 – 2006

This was another wind farm project with Civil Engineering works constructed for Siemens on a remote site south of Inverness in Highland Region.

Jacks1 carried out earthworks and environmental protection works at this landfill site near Inverness. The subcontract work was for Highland Quality Construction who were main contractor for Highland Region.

Jacks1 were subcontracted to ROK for earthworks and reinforced concrete works on the extension works to this distillery at Leven in Fife

Dun Law Wind Farm 2007 – 2008

A project for the extension of an existing wind farm being developed by Renewable Energy Systems Group (RES). Jacks1 were awarded an earthworks subcontract by ROK the main Civil Engineering Contractor. The work involved excavation of substantial quantities of unsuitable material for on-site disposal, and the development of borrow pits to provide rock for road and hardstanding construction.

The project associated with decommissioning at the nuclear power station was carried out on a subcontract basis for Costain. Involving the regulated excavation works and mass concrete infilling within a controlled environment.

Subcontract package for Grahams for groundworks and reinforced concrete construction. Including excavations, drainage, ground beams, pile caps, and all reinforced concrete associated with the 3 storey building. A 6m deep sheet piled excavation in existing live car park for the construction of RC fire escape stairs and retaining walls. Kerbing and landscaping.
